Wire Rope

American Sling Company has a wide inventory of wire ropes. We pride ourselves on our wide variety of American Made wire rope. Our main supplier of high quality wire rope is Wireco (Wire Rope Corporation of America).

 

General Purpose Wire Rope

Wireco supplies our industry with a versatile lineup of quality American made I.W.R.C (Wire Rope Core) X.I.P. or E.I.P.S. (Extra Improved Plow Steel) General purpose wire ropes that perform well in the sling manufacturing industry. We maintain an extensive inventory of 6x19 (6x25) wire rope largely for the manufacture of wire rope slings and general use. 6x37 (6x36) wire ropes are in stock when flexibility is a must. American Sling company uses X.I.P. (E.I.P.S) wire rope for all manufacturing of wire rope slings unless unless otherwise specified.

Rotation Resistant Wire Ropes

General purpose rotation resistant wire ropes such 19x7, and 8x19 (8x25) resis-twist are kept in stock for applications where stability of a load being suspended is critical. 19x7 is designed for applicatioons where a single line wire rope is being used for lifting and rotation if the load is not acceptable. 8x25 is used in applications when multi-part situations to prevent block twisting.

Premium Wire Ropes

In addition to general purpose wire ropes, we maintain an inventory of FLEXX1919 rotation resistant wire ropes. FLEXX1919 rotation resistant wire rope is recommended when superior strength is required in a rotation resistant wire rope. FLEXX1919 is an approved replacement rope for such cranes as Grove and Linkbelt.

FLEXX626 is also kept on hand, as a high performance replacement when your application requires a more conventional rope with exceptional strength and durability. Flex-x 626 wire rope uses wires with smooth flat surface to improve wear characteristics and to improve strength. The engineering behind this wire rope allows for more steel per foot and this adds to the overall strength of the rope.

American Sling Company keeps on hand a wide inventory of metric wire ropes in 6x37 and 35x7 constructions for the industrial crane and hoist industry. We regularly produce replacement cable for these applications.

We also maintain an extensive inventory of small and medium diameter aircraft cable in both galvanized and stainless steel, coated and uncoated. In addition, we also keep in stock, a supply of galvanized and stainless MIL-Spec approved cables.

Our full service rigging department can install specialty fittings using our rotary swagers and portable air swagers on cables that will conform to the unique nature of their intended purpose. We have provided extensive products to the local aerospace industry as well as for medical uses. We have also undertaken and completed many large runs of architectural cables that are currently in use at local venues such as American Airlines Center in Dallas and for Major League Baseball's Texas Ranger's facility at The Ballpark in Arlington. Our specialty cables appear in local homes as ornamental decorations and are found in local churches as well.
